NinjaOne export, import and migration guides

Explore native tools for moving NinjaOne records, preparing a usable archive and recovering deleted information.

These guides distinguish NinjaOne PSA and ticketing records, people imports, and the separate Documentation CSV workflow. Endpoint backup and agent deployment have their own scope.

Choose a native NinjaOne workflow

Prepare for a switch

Keep useful NinjaOne history available while teams learn a replacement system.

Work through an outage

Look up a previously captured ticket, customer, or billing record while the source is unavailable.

Review an absent record

Open the last captured version of a record after it no longer appears in a later successful backup.

Records to assess

NinjaOne business-record context

  • Psa tickets and comments
  • Ticket contacts and forms
  • Agreement context
  • Psa invoices where enabled

NinjaOne reporting can answer operational questions, while API coverage varies by enabled PSA feature and tenant licensing.

Backup preparation

  1. Create OAuth 2.0 client credentials using least privilege.
  2. Add the tenant, region, or subdomain details described in the credential guide.
  3. Validate the connection and choose supported record groups.
  4. Run a manual backup, then review collection results before relying on the snapshot.

Plan the full data lifecycle

Choose a native export method, check the destination importer, and validate a sample before cutover. Preserve readable source history for later client questions.
