Use case

Answer client questions during a platform outage

Use an earlier independent backup for reference while the source service is unavailable.

The question your team needs to answer

“What did we promise this client, and who last worked the issue?” During an outage, the source may be authoritative but temporarily unreachable.

What must already exist

The relevant record and relationship data must have been captured successfully before the switch, deletion, outage, or change. Permissions and vendor API coverage still define what is available.

A practical workflow

  1. Before an outage, capture the records needed for active client work.
  2. Verify that authorized staff can reach the independent history.
  3. During an outage, check the latest successful capture time.
  4. Use the retained customer context and record any new commitments separately.
  5. When the source returns, reconcile new work with the live service records.

Plan the source capture and set archive access responsibilities.

A useful historical record includes its capture date, source identity and relationships. Review the native workflow before planning your archive.
