Choose the official import route

Kaseya BMS supports module-specific Excel imports for accounts, contacts, hardware assets, products and services. Its product overview also describes migration assistance for API-accessible platforms such as Autotask and ConnectWise, and a database-backup route for Tigerpaw.

Use the selected module template

Open Admin > Imports > Import Data, choose the import type and download its Excel template. Populate the required fields shown by that workflow, upload the completed file and review the import log under Admin > Logs > Import.

Scope historical tickets with the service team

For migration assistance, obtain a resource list covering tickets, notes, time entries, contracts, invoice relationships and files. Confirm what source access is required and how records from multiple source accounts will be identified.

Reconcile the pilot

Use an account containing several contacts and both active and closed service work. Check the account/contact relationship, technician mapping and finance totals. Document original ID/date handling, failed-row retries and the recovery plan before scheduling cutover.

Use dated migration scope as a planning reference

Kaseya’s 2020 BMS Migrate product brief describes people, tickets, time/expenses and knowledge-base migration. Its exclusions include financial data, custom migrations and ticket attachments. This is historical service scope: obtain current terms before selecting it. Assign excluded finance and file history to a readable archive before cancelling the source.
